Spicy Seed Mix

Hello #LoyalRoyals

It’s still soup season here in the chilly Western Cape, and we’re using every drop of rain as an excuse to schlurp up steaming bowls of goodness. And if we needed another excuse? Well, it would be this spicy seed mix. So moreish, you’ll want to sprinkle it over everything and anything.

We’ve been deeply touched by your support of our Ladles of Love soup campaign – for each Pesto Princess soup you’ve bought, you have made a daily difference to someone in need.*

THANK you, thank YOU, thank you.

*Ladles of Love receives a contribution from us for every single soup we sell, so that they can feed someone who finds themselves living on the streets, cold and hungry. Check them out

You will need

1 tsp oil
150 g mixed seeds and/or nuts (we used sunflower, sesame and pumpkin)
1 tsp ground Turmeric
1 tsp dried chillies (or Cumin if you don’t like spicy foods)
A generous pinch of salt

A packet of our Pesto Princess Creamy Carrot Soup.

How to

1. Heat a large non-stick pan over medium to high heat.

2. Add the oil and the seeds and stir to coat. Now add your spices and salt. Stir continuously until the seeds start to pop. Remove from the pan and set aside to cool.

Serve this seed mix as a snack or use them to top your favourite Pesto Princess soup. They are also great in salads and sprinkled over curries.
