Hello #LoyalRoyals
We’re in that hibernation stage of winter where we hit the snooze button one too many times and live in our slippers! All the more reason to take refuge in a cosy kitchen and prepare some comforting home-cooked meals.
Here are some of our absolute favourites for you to try. If you have a winter winner of your own, please share.
Stay warm

Wonderbag Stew with Zucchini Mash
One of the best things to do on a cold day is to cook a delicious stew with a little help from the Wonderbag®. Do all the prep in the morning and leave the stew in the Wonderbag® for the day. When you get home… ta-daaaa… supper is ready! Magic.
Mozzarella in Carrozza
What could be a better accompaniment to our Pesto Princess Fresh Tomato Soup than the Italian culinary wonder that is Mozzarella in Carrozza? French toast marries grilled cheese… in this case, grilled, oozy buffalo mozzarella 🙂
Aubergine Parmigiana
Winter – we’d like you to stay a little longer, please. Let it rain, rain, rain and give us more reason to stay home and cook comfort food deluxe like this Aubergine Parmigiana! How about putting this classic dish on your menu this weekend?
Next Level Lasagna
This is without a doubt, the best lasagna in the world. Yes, we know that is quite a claim but we simply have to sing from the Palace rooftops about it – it’s that good. It’s rich, velvety and has a serious comfort food factor.
Red Lentil Soup with Crispy Harissa Chickpeas
These crispy Harissa chickpeas make the perfect accompaniment to our Pesto Princess Red Lentil Soup. We’re all about soup this winter since a hot, nourishing meal is donated to someone in need for every single Pesto Princess soup sold (thanks to the special people over at Ladles of Love). We also love being able to heat and eat something in minutes, that’s brimming with all the good stuff. Here are all of our recipes for our favourite soup accompaniments.
Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni
Find your happy place making this dish of cannelloni. It’s easy (there’s no white sauce – thanks to Sam of Drizzle and Dip for her inspiration) and totally therapeutic. Winter comfort food? Tick.
Warm Lentil & Halloumi Salad
Why do we love this warm winter salad? Oh, so many reasons! It lets our wonder ingredient, Pesto Princess Harissa Paste shine! The dressing is easy to make – simply shake up all the ingredients and voilà… and of course that griddled, oozy, halloumi.
Royal Root Vegetable Gratin
This vegetable gratin is easy to adapt. Any selection of root veggies will work, so try whatever is in season like carrots, turnips, celeriac, potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, beetroot or parsnips. It’s a winter warmer of note!
Tamatie Bredie
Tamatie Bredie is a South African classic perfectly suited to big, chaotic family lunches, with laughing children, muddy boots, an after-lunch walk around the block and memories made and shared. Please do give it a try and let us know if you love it as much as we do!
Roasted Veg Salad
This warm, wintry salad is crying out to be the main event at your next Sunday lunch or shared mid-week with friends alongside a glass of red! Hearty, wholesome and budget-friendly, get the recipe here.
Harissa Meatballs and Cauli Mash
We have paired this comforting cauli mash with saucy, spicy Harissa meatballs. This is the type of meal that warms you up from the inside out and could well mend broken hearts! Get the recipe here.
Recipe and food styling by Michelle Parkin.
This selection just bounced off the page at me, these recipes look impossibly delicious. I can almost taste the depth of flavour just by looking at them. Root vegetable gratin is first on the list…then that really meaty lasagna, hmmm or perhaps the harissa meatballs. LUUUURVE harissa. Ciao…….and thanks for sharing.
Hello Pinkie,

With love from all at the Palace
